The St George Illawarra Dragons Community department helped launch the Dream, Believe, Achieve program run by the NRL, at Tempe High School on Tuesday.

Dragons second-rower Joel Thompson and Jillaroos fullback Sam Hammond were on hand to inspire students to follow their dreams and make positive choices along the way.

Thompson spoke to the year 10 students about the importance of believing in yourself and having a strong support group, two things which helped him overcome some struggles in his journey.

“You can have any dream in the world, you’ve just got to put in that hard work and make those sacrifices,” said Thompson.

“No dream is too big, with hard work you can achieve anything.”

The goals and aspirations program encourages secondary students to dream big, develop resilience and create strategies to achieve their goals.
