Dragons set for Regional NSW Blitz

The St George Illawarra Dragons will next week set off on yet another Best You Can Be Blitz through regional NSW powered by Squadron Energy.

NRLW stars Ella Koster, Keele Browne, and Montaya Hudson will be joining the Dragons Community Team as they help deliver the club’s The Best You Can Be program to a collection of schools and host a Rugby League Gala Day.

The team are set for stops at Darlington Point Public School, Coleambally Central School, and St Peter’s Primary School Coleambally, whilst hosting a Rugby League Gala Day at Deniliquin’s Rotary Park for Conargo Public School, Blighty Public School, Deniliquin North Public School, Edward Public School, Deniliquin South Public School and Deniliquin Public School.

The club’s The Best You Can Be program which, now in its 12th year, encourages students to make positive choices about health, wellbeing and personal development.

Through interactive workshops, students learn about physical activity, respect and inclusion, nutrition, hydration, healthy sleep habits, managing screen time, and caring for the environment.

A Win the Morning event is also slated for Tuesday morning at Peppin Heritage Centre in Deniliquin with locals offered the opportunity to come together for a walk, chat, and coffee.

Edward River Council Mayor Ashley Hall is excited to welcome the club to the region.

“We’re excited to see the Dragons and Squadron Energy Community Blitz come to Deniliquin and grateful to the players for taking the time to visit our region,” she said.

“Opportunities like this have a real impact, giving young people the chance to connect with positive role models, learn about the importance of health and wellbeing, and be inspired to get active and involved in their communities. I encourage everyone to come along to the Win the Morning Walk, meet the players and help give them a warm Deni welcome.”
