Dragons complete successful Far South Coast Blitz

The St George Illawarra Dragons, in partnership with Squadron Energy, this week embarked on a successful Far South Coast Blitz powered by Squadron Energy.

NRLW stars Ella Koster and Montaya Hudson were on hand alongside the Dragons Community Team delivering the club’s The Best You Can Be program.

The team made stops at Sunshine Bay Public School, Candelo Public School, Mogo Public School, Delegate Public School, Bombala Public School, St Joseph’s Bombala, St Mary’s Moruya, Batemans Bay Public School, Narooma Public School and Sussex Inlet Public School.

A Win the Morning event was also hosted in Bombala with a successful turnout as locals came together for a walk, chat, and coffee.

The club’s The Best You Can Be program which, now in its 12th year, encourages students to make positive choices about health, wellbeing and personal development.

Through interactive workshops, students learn about physical activity, respect and inclusion, nutrition, hydration, healthy sleep habits, managing screen time, and caring for the environment.

Hudson, who had visited a collection of the schools earlier in the year, was appreciative of the opportunity to be involved in the trip.

“Everyone we met through the trip was amazing,” she said.

“The students, teachers, locals were all so welcoming. We made some great memories and we hope that everyone we came across took something out of it. It is always so special to be involved in these initiatives.”
