Illawarra Cutters Head Coach Scott Logan has communicated his gratitude to all his players for their respective efforts shown in the NSW Cup competition this season.
The Cutters were defeated 34-10 by the Newcastle Knights in the NSW Cup Preliminary Final fixture to bow out just one game short of the Grand Final.
Logan concedes that his side failed to produce the defence needed to defeat the Knights but admits that the experience is a learning curve for his players who excelled on the field for the majority of the campaign.
“I think for a club that is three-years-old we have a lot to be proud of,” said Logan.
“The players have been a credit to themselves all season and unfortunately things did not fall in our favour the way we would have liked it to.
“I thought basically from the outset of the game our attitude towards our defence wasn't good.
“You never know coming into these games if you've gained momentum or actually given everything the week before.”
“I am not saying the players gave up in any way, shape or form but the task might have been a little too against the Knights.
“I would like to thank all the players and staff for their efforts both on and off the field this season as without them there would be no Club.”
