The St George Illawarra Dragons, in conjunction with the NRL, proudly supported the tenth annual Crystal Bears Women In League event held prior to the fixture against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks on Saturday.

Over 200 guests were encouraged to dress up in pink and take part in the pre-game functions which included cocktail food, champagne and a free gift amongst other exciting things!

Another standout area was the pamper zone which saw 10 different companies donating their time and services with hair styling, makeup tips and touch ups, manicures, hand massages, nail painting as well as psychic healing readings.

Dragons representatives that attended throughout the three-hour event including Ambassador Shaun Timmins as well as both Jack Stockwell and Mitch Rein.

All proceeds from the event raised, expected to be approximately $20,000, will be donated to the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation which helps support Jo's Helping Hand Patient Care Service that directly helps patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Michaela Slobin, a patient and recipient of Jo’s Helping Hand, spoke on the night thanking the Crystal Bears committee, the Foundation, the Dragons and the NRL for the amazing help they give to ‘real people’ like herself.

The Women in League Round celebrates, acknowledges and supports the role women play in the Game, from the grassroots through to the elite,  it’s a chance for the Game to simply say "thank you".
