St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition second-rower Dylan Lauri is confident the young Dragons can emulate their performance last week, against the Parramatta Eels on Sunday.

The Western Devils junior was excited to make his season debut against the Bulldogs and hopes to cement a spot in the starting line-up.

“It was a good hit out, the boys did well to overcome the Bulldogs pack,” said Lauri.

“The first half was pretty tough, we let in a few easy tries and lacked on our D a little bit.

“But we came out during the second half really fired up and eager to get the results, so it was nice to take out a 50-10 victory.

“Ben and Dean spoke about it during the week and we know what we need to address before this weekend.

“I’m looking forward to getting out there on Sunday with the boys.

“I was thankful for the opportunity last week, I think I played fairly well on my debut, so I’m hoping to maintain that consistency in my game and keep the momentum.

“Parra are a good team but I think we can match them, it will definitely be a challenge for us, but we’re ready for it.”
