St George Illawarra Dragons winger Jason Nightingale is expected to miss up to four weeks after suffering a medial ligament injury to his left knee.

The New Zealand Kiwi International suffered the injury during the Kiwis 30-18 defeat against the Australia Kangaroos in the ANZAC Test match on Friday. 

"Jason Nightingale suffered a medial ligament injury to his left knee," said Dragons Performance Director Andrew Gray. 

"He is currently in a brace and we're expecting him to miss beween three to four weeks.

"Jason has commenced his rehabilitation program, but he won't be fit for selection this weekend."

Dragons trio Josh Dugan, Tyson Frizell and Trent Merrin were late omissions from the NSW Country Origin squad due to minor injuries.

"Frizell, Dugan and Merrin have all undergone a rehabilitation program and a rehab running session," said Gray.

"They did participate in a modified training session on Tuesday, but we will continue to moniter them during the course of this week leading into this weekend's game."
