St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Josh Dugan has suffered a lateral ligament injury as determined by both scans and a surgical review undertaken on Monday.
The NSW Blues representative will now meet with Dragons Medical Staff in the coming days to finalise a rehabilitation program with the custodian expected to return against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in Round 5.
Dugan, 23, sustained the injury during the 38-20 loss to the Rabbitohs in the Charity Shield fixture at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.
“Josh has had scans and a surgical review and has suffered a lateral ligament injury following a collision on Saturday,” said Dragons High Performance Director Andrew Gray.
“He is expected to return to the team in round five of the NRL competition.”
