The defending premier Illawarra Steelers have announced their squad for the 2025 Harvey Norman NSW Women's Premiership season.
Jamie Szczerbanik will again be at the helm as his Steelers look to replicate the scenes from their 10-6 Grand Final victory over Newcastle.
Eight members from last year's premiership-winning squad are back for 2025 headlined by skipper Mackenzie Lear as well as the likes of Tayleah Handcock, Kiara Kostovksi, Shae Muhleisen, Jessica Patea, Tori Shipton, Tiarna West and Rhian Yeo.
Several members of Illawarra's Tarsha Gale Cup and Lisa Fiaola Cup sides also make the leap up – Ella Churchill, Ella Greatz, Tahanni Kaufusi, Makayla McFayden, Charlotte Nicolson, Herewaka Pohatu, Skye Spencer, Armani Tanioria and Billie Va’a – with the strength of the club's pathways again on show.
Fellow Lisa Fiaola Cup standouts Halle Barrett and Michala Hardy will spend the season training with the squad as development players.
The side's title defence begins on Saturday, July 5 against the Wests Tigers at Collegians.
