Dragons participate in RISEUP 'Fit for Life'

St George Illawarra legends Matt Cooper and Craig Young as well as members from Dragons Community participated in NSW Police's RISEUP 'Fit for Life' fitness camp on Friday afternoon.

Members of the Wollongong Police and PCYC hosted the school holiday clinic at Bellambi Surf Club, which included games, boxing and breakfast.

The event took place as part of RISEUP's strategy – which was launched in 2018 – to prioritise youth engagement

The core of RISEUP incorporates job ready programs, mentoring and vocational training for at risk youth aged between 15 and 18 to build their engagement with education, employment opportunities and the community.

The initiative aims to partner with employers across NSW to create meaningful workplace opportunities for young people who've embraced positive change in their lives.

Programs such as the 'Fit for Life' event the Dragons participated in is an example of the alternative learning environment that NSW Police hope to utilise in name of building participants commitment, resilience and motivation.
