The Illawarra Cutters Head Coach Scott Logan is hoping to build on the foundation of the success established last season as the team continues their pre-season.

The Cutters squad is presently smaller than in previous pre-seasons which Logan identifies as an opportunity to concentrate in depth on developing the skillsets of each individual in the team

Logan admits he plans to tweak the way things are run during midweek training to emulate the structures similarly in place with the St George Illawarra Dragons if they are to advance from their benchmark NSW Cup Preliminary Finals berth last season.

“I am really happy with the effort on show presently and there is certainly a different dynamic within the squad this season with a smaller group of players than this time last year,” said Logan.

“This is tailored on the Dragons side having a larger group of players than normal and this has allowed us to focus on the skills as well as some contact and conditioning.

“I am really pleased with the team enthusiasm at this point.

“Along with how we went last season I think the expectations for the team is quite high but it all depends on what happens with injuries and the progress other teams make.

“We would love to be back there again this season and am confident we have a really good chance of giving the title a shake this season.”
