St George launches 2026 Junior Reps season

The St George Dragons launched their 2026 Junior Reps season at St George Leagues Club’s The Grange.

The event brought together players and staff from all four teams as well as administrators and key stakeholders to mark the beginning of the 2026 pathways journey.

The evening was emceed by Tim Gilbert and opened with an address from St George District Chairman Craig Young who spoke to the importance of the district pathways system and the role it plays in developing not only elite footballers but quality people.

The event marked an important celebration of the season ahead for the Lisa Fiaola Cup, Tarsha Gale Cup, Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball teams and provided inspiration and reinforcement of the standards, behaviours, and mindset required to progress through the pathways.

Following the Chairman’s address, Pathways Manager Kyle Stanley took part in a Q&A session focused on the pathways program as a whole highlighting the strength of the integrated male and female pathways system and reinforcing that it provides a genuine and clearly defined pathway to the NRL and NRLW for aspiring players.

A coaches panel then followed with all four Junior Reps coaches reflecting on how pre-season has progressed, their focus areas for the year ahead, and what excites them most about their squads as the season approaches.

The evening concluded with a panel featuring Head of Recruitment and Pathways Daniel Anderson, NRLW & Pathways Recruitment Lead Mark Riddell, Chief Operating Officer Ben Creagh and NRLW Head Coach Nathan Cross. T

The event was well supported by a strong contingent of VIPs and partners, including sponsors Hamptons, Rockdale Mazda, Elite Legal, McCann and Classic alongside Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg, Bayside Council Mayor Edward McDougall and the Hon. Ash Ambihaipahar, Member for Barton.

CEO Tim Watsford and NRL Head Coach Shane Flanagan were also in attendance further reinforcing the close alignment between the Dragons and the district pathways.
