WOMEN IN LEAGUE ROUND
The NRL will this weekend be celebrating Women in League Round which highlights the women playing crucial roles at every level of the rugby league community.
This year during Women in League Round, NRL and Harvey Norman are continuing several initiatives as well as partnering with Ovarian Cancer Australia to get vocal for progress against ovarian cancer.
From the women who take to the field for the Dragons, to those behind the scenes, and those in the stands, we thank you for playing your part in making rugby league the greatest game of all.
50 female junior rugby league volunteers, referees, and coaches from within the club's catchment will be introduced to the crowd as a part of celebrations whilst Female Football Manager and Helensburgh Tigers junior Sam Bremner will be the guest on Dragons TV.
JUNIOR LEAGUE APPRECIATION ROUND
The club will also be celebrating Junior League Appreciation Round paying homage to all of junior clubs within our catchment.
Our catchment area encompasses all teams in the St George District Junior Rugby League, Illawarra Junior Rugby League, and South Coast Group 7 Junior Rugby League.
At half-time, a wide array of local juniors from 27 of our junior clubs will take part in the club's annual Junior League Relay.
Six local juniors are set to take the field for the club on Saturday including Tyrell Sloan (Dapto Canaries), Toby Couchman (Thirroul Butchers), Damien Cook (Helensburgh Tigers), Dylan Egan (Gerringong Lions), Hamish Stewart (Gerringong Lions) and Luciano Leilua (Hurstville United).
RAISING MONEY FOR THE DISABILITY TRUST
The Dragons will also be partnering with The Disability Trust for Saturday evening's 50-50 Charity Raffle.
The Disability Trust is a not-for-profit, NDIS-registered support services provider with a rich history of disability advocacy and providing person-centred support services having celebrated their 50th anniversary a year ago.
One of The Disability Trust's many community programs are our very own Score Dragons who were on show in a curtain-raiser prior to the NRL squad's Round 6 win over the Titans in Wollongong.
