Dragons Community is driven by its role as a representative of the St George Illawarra community and committed to the positive role it plays within it.
Our 2021 season was once again impacted heavily by Covid-19 restrictions and player relocation made things difficult however a many key engagements and outcomes were achieved. These included the following:
- Players spent 648 hours in the community, which included 147 school visits, conducted 17 junior club visits as well as 28 Zoom sessions.
- The Best You Can Be program had a record year of participation including 8978 students, 104 schools and 358 teachers across two states (New South Wales and Queensland).
- We proudly launched our second Reconciliation Action Plan. Introduced a Score Dragons Ambassador program on top of the already successful Score Dragons
- We continued to give members of the community great access to Dragons home games via our game-on-game day experience. 75 per cent of guests would not of been able to attend without our support while 67 per cent of guests experiencing their first live NRL game.
