St George Illawarra have confirmed Billy Brittain has signed a four-week train and trial contract on the eve of the club's pre-season trials.
Brittain made his NRL debut at the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2019; a year where he was crowned the Canterbury Cup NSW Player of the Year. To date, Brittain has played two first grade games.
"The coaching staff came to me in the wake of Cameron McInnes' recent knee injury with a desire to sign another hooker," Director of Rugby League Pathways and List Management Ian Millward said.
"Billy will spend the next four weeks with the club, where the coaches will be afforded the opportunity to assess him and make a determination on whether we will proceed to sign him to our Top 30."
The Dragons remain hopeful of Brittain's availability for of the club's first trial against the Newcastle Knights on Saturday, February 22 at Maitland's No. 1 Sportsground.
