St George Illawarra Dragons 30-22 winners over the Gold Coast Titans at UOW Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Friday.

The Young Dragons scored five tries in the win including a double to fullback Matt Dufty.

Head Coach Matt Head had been forced to make a few changes to his line-up named midweek including utility Tony Pellow replacing the injured Reuben Garrick on the wing and Ali Allouche starting as hooker.

The Titans opened the scoring in the third minute of the game, when lock Simione Fatafahi got on the end of a perfectly weighted grubber kick.

Titans winger Tyronne Roberts-Davis converted the try to give the Titans a 6-0 lead after four minutes.

It took a brilliant pass by Dragons second-rower Luciano Leilua to break the stalemate, batting the ball back to a trailing fullback Matt Dufty, who went in under the posts.

Dragons five-eighth Jai Field converted the try to level the scores up on the halfhour mark.

Dufty continued his brilliant opening stanza, setting Field up off the back of the quick tap, before he converted his own try to send the Young Dragons into the sheds up by six points.

The NSW U20 representative did not have to wait long to put his stamp on the second half, throwing a dummy before slicing through the Titans line untouched for a 16-6 lead after 43 minutes.

The Titans though hit back 10 minutes later though, when five-eighth Josh Ralph scored in the corner.

The visitors momentum was short lived however, with two converted tries in six minutes giving the Young Dragons a 16 point lead heading into the final quarter of the match.

Despite two converted tries to Josh Ralph in the final 11 minute, the Young Dragons held on to extend their unbeaten streak to 10 games.

St George Illawarra Dragons 30. Tries: Dufty (2), Field, Kemp, Pellow. Goals: (4/5). Penalty Goals: (1/1).

Gold Coast Titans: 22: Tries: Ralph (3), Fatafahi. Goals: Roberts-Davis (3/4).
