Illawarra Cutters Head Coach Ian Millward admits his players knows what needs to be improved upon following the 34-14 loss to Wests Tigers at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.

Millward was most concerned with their completion rate and kicking game, which put them under pressure in defence.

Millward is confident next week the team will be able to put this game behind them and put in a better effort as a collective group.

“It was a good start, it looked promising but we fell down in parts of our games," said Millward.

"Our kicking game could of been better and they put a lot of pressure on our defence.

“In the second half our completion rate was 50% and we lacked some attacking options throughout the whole game.

“Those factors took a lot of energy out of us and they took advantage of that.

“Next week we need to focus on improving our kicking game and trying to focus our energy in the right area’s so we don't make the same mistakes.”
