A Minchinbury Jets and Brothers Penrith junior, Halangahu joined the club’s pathways system as a 15-year-old playing Harold Matthews Cup with St George.
He was named an Australian Schoolboy the following year before making the transition up to SG Ball where he took home Player of the Match honours in St George’s Grand Final win and was named the side’s Player of the Year.
Halangahu represented the NSW City Under 18s side later in the year before coming off the bench in NSW’s Under 19s State of Origin victory.
He was selected in the Australian Schoolboys squad for the second year in a row in 2024 – this time as captain – before helping lead Patrician Brothers’ Blacktown to the 2024 NRL Schoolboy Cup Final.
The teenager made the leap up to Knock-On Effect NSW Cup in 2025 growing into a key member of the squad as he once again earnt an Under 19s State of Origin jersey.
His awaited NRL debut came in the side’s Round 23 local derby triumph at Jubilee as he finished the year with five NRL matches to his name including a Player of the Match nod in Round 25.
The teenager transitions into the club’s Top 30 squad for season 2026 and is under contract with the Red V until at least the end of 2027.
