At age 27, Russell became St George Illawarra Dragon #266 when he made his long-awaited NRL debut against the Raiders in Round 19, 2023.
An Emerald Brothers junior, Russell’s QLD Cup career started at Souths Logan back in 2015 and he was rewarded with an international call-up for Papua New Guinea in their clash against Fiji in mid-2019.
He has gone on to represent the Kumuls on 10 occasions, including four at the World Cup in 2022 in which he scored a pair of tries.
A versatile back rower with the ability to shift out to the centres, Russell provides the squad with valuable depth heading into the year.
