Dragons release Charlotte Basham

The St George Illawarra Dragons have agreed to grant Charlotte Basham a release from the final year of her contract to pursue an opportunity at another club.

A Corrimal Cougars junior, Basham made her NRLW debut in the Dragons’ final game of 2023 before playing an integral role in the Steelers’ 2024 Tarsha Gale Cup premiership.

The 20-year-old went on to make 17 appearances for the Red V over the course of three seasons.

“Charlotte requested a release from the final year of her deal to take on an opportunity with another club and, given our squad balance, we have opted not to stand in the way of it,” General Manager – Female Football Sammy Bremner said.

“She’s a local junior who progressed through our pathways system up into the NRLW. Her professionalism has always been outstanding, and we’d like to wish her all the very best in her next chapter.”
