Illawarra Rugby League is calling upon young players to get involved with registrations now open for the 2026 season.
Having enjoyed their best season participation-wise since pre-Covid with 3,247 juniors registered to play last year, Illawarra Rugby League head into 2026 in a strong position.
38 per cent of participants a year ago were young females – an Illawarra record.
Home to 11 clubs stretching from Helensburgh in the north to Dapto in the south, the Illawarra has produced the likes of Damien Cook, Kasey Reh, and the Couchman twins as well as Dean Young, Ben Hornby, and Sammy Bremner.
“Get ready to lace up your boots. Registrations for the 2026 Illawarra Rugby League season are officially open for juniors and seniors,” Illawarra Rugby League Head of Football Carlo Napolitano said.
“Join the fun, bring your mates, and let’s make this season one to remember. It’s not just the players who make the game great. Coaches, team managers, sports trainers, and LeagueSafe legends, registrations for the 2026 Illawarra Rugby League season are now open. Step up, get involved, and help create an unforgettable year of footy.”
