The Western Suburbs Red Devils will be raising money for local player Madeleine Ceccato who suffered a serious head and neck injury whilst representing the NSWCCC side in Townsville.
After multiple surgeries and a long hospital stay, Maddie is now continuing her recovery as an outpatient in the Illawarra Brain Injury Service and at Sydney Children's Hospital.
She remains positive and is grateful to be home, but still has a long road ahead.
Maddie was a member of the Steelers' Lisa Fiaola Cup squad earlier this year and plays for the Western Suburbs Red Devils locally.
The Gong Calcutta 2025 at Wests Illawarra will be held on Friday night at 6:30pm and is free to attend.
10 per cent of The Gong Calcutta's prize pool will be donated to Maddie as she continues her recovery.
