St George Illawarra Dragons co-captain Gareth Widdop has been charged with a Grade 1 “Tripping” by the NRL Match Review Committee on Friday.

Widdop committed the incident during the 19th minute of the 26-0 loss to the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Thursday.

The England international representative can either take an Early Plea, graded at 56 points, or contest the charge but if found Guilty have it graded at 75 points.

The Dragons have until midday Tuesday to make their decision.
