St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team fullback Matt Dufty believes momentum can continue leading into the fixture against the Melbourne Storm at Gosch’s Park, Melbourne on Saturday.

The local Penshurst RSL junior is confident the team can build-upon the platform built in recent weeks which was highlighted by the tough-fought 26-18 victory over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in wet conditions last round.

Despite the win, the Young Dragons still remain positioned towards the bottom end of the competition table but Dufty admits there is an air of confidence surrounding the squad.

“It was a very tough win against the Rabbitohs but we dug-in deep and got the result,” said Dufty.

“It was a real team-effort which is what mattered with each guy playing for one another.

“We know the position we are currently in on the table with earlier results in the season not going our way but we intend to try and change that over the next few weeks.

“The Storm are always a challenging team and we will be working hard in training this week to improve on some areas which have let us down in past weeks.

“We must build on the momentum created in recent weeks and play to our potential.”
