The Illawarra Cutters meet the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval, Brookvale on Saturday.

It was a week of mixed results for the sides last weekend, with Illawarra rallying to win against Mt Pritchard Mounties, while the Sea Eagles suffered a loss to the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.

The Cutters are looking to improve under new Head Coach Scott Logan and with his first victory last weekend; the side will be hoping to continue that momentum.

To do that, Illawarra welcome back regular players Peter Mata’utia, Rory O’Brien and Kyle Stanley whom were all missing from the victory against Mounties last weekend.

“I was really impressed with the effort and it was massive from the team,” said Logan.

“We simplified a few things at training and I thought we improved in the areas we needed to and once we battled back into field position we looked good.”

“I am really enjoying it at the moment and hopefully we can keep winning.

“I have coached for three years in the Illawarra local league before this so I understand the pressure involved with coaching.

“It’s obviously a different level with guys from NRL level and guys from local level trying to play at NSW Cup level. “

On the other hand, Manly will rely on a mixture of youth and experience with a team that includes former Australian representative David Williams and promising youngsters Clinton Gutherson and Michael Chee Kam.

This will prove a real test for the Cutters as they sit in the top four but Manly will be aiming to move up the ladder and push for a top eight position.

A win will solidify Illawarra in the top four and help them keep pace with the top three.
