The Illawarra Cutters travel to face Wentworthville Magpies at Pirtek Stadium, Parramatta on Saturday.

With wins for both teams last weekend, Illawarra defeating the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Wentworthville going past the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, both sides will have plenty of momentum heading into the weekends fixture.

After three wins in a row for the Cutters, the team will be hoping to continue to push for the top position on the ladder.

“We are looking at all the little things every week but we are always working on our defence and hope to improve more throughout the season,” said Cutters Assistant Coach Scott Logan.

“We are continuing to work hard in training this week and will be approaching the match with a good attitude.”

To help them do that this week is experienced half-back Michael Witt and the returning Matt Groat and Kyle Stanley.

For the Magpies, there is plenty of dangerous players that will test Illawarra’s defence this weekend, including Justin Hunt, Luke Kelly and experienced front-rower Fui Fui Moi Moi.

Despite this being the first meeting between the two teams this year, this is shaping to be an exciting game with both sides sitting at the top of the ladder.

A win for the Cutters will see them leapfrog the Magpies and lead the competition after ten rounds.
