The St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team were 44-12 wineers over the Brisbane Broncos at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Friday.

The Young Dragons crossed the line a total of eight times, with players Matthew Dufty, Rowland Kotobalauo each picking up two tries a piece.

Head Coaches Dean Young and Ben Hornby announced a late change to the Dragons, replacing winger Izaac Thompson with Rowland Kotobalavo.

The Young Dragons opened the scoring early in the third minute as playmaker Drew Hutchison barged over under the posts.

The try was easily converted by winger Sitiveni Moceidreke making the score six-nil.

The Dragons scored again six minutes later with a cross field play to winger Rowland Kotobalavo with Moceidreke again getting the conversion.

On the very next set the Dragons scored again with number twelve Jack Bird running around three defenders to the line.

Moceidreke converted to make the score 18-nil.

Dragons fullback Matt Dufty got the ball down under the posts untouched two minutes later.

Moceidreke converted once more to make it 24-nil.

The Broncos, being held out successfully for 38 minutes, finally scored through second-rower Brett Greinke.

The hosts replied with fullback Dufty doubling his haul to make it 28-4 at the interval.

Dragons centre Brent Anderson struck first after the break in the 48th minute.

Mociedreke converted to make it 34-4.

The Broncos replied to score through fullback Jayden Nikorima who slipped through the Dragons defence.

Mociedreke found space to score just after the hourmark to score a four-pointer of his own.

With 10 minutes remaining Kotobalavu secured his second try of the night, before and Mociedreke expertly landed a sideline conversion making the score 44-8.

Broncos fullback Nikorima stretched over the line before converting to make it 44-12.
