ALEX McKINNON CUP ON THE LINE

The two sides will be playing for the Alex McKinnon Cup for the 11th year in a row.

A Junior Kangaroo and Under 20s State of Origin rep, McKinnon came through the grades at the Dragons and made his NRL debut in Round 14, 2011 at Jubilee Stadium.

He played three games as a rookie for the Red V before joining Wayne Bennett at the Knights where he made 46 appearances over the course of three seasons.

The Dragons will be looking to win it for the eighth time although Newcastle are the current holders of the trophy.

50-50 CHARITY RAFFLE PARTNERS: BATYR

The Dragons are proud to partner with batyr for this Friday night's 50-50 Charity Raffle at Jubilee Stadium.

We encourage all fans to show their support – every donation, big or small, helps make a difference.

batyr is an organisation that opens up the mental health conversation, shares real stories of overcoming tough times and supports young people and their communities.

The organisation exists to empower young people with the confidence and skills to get through tough times and look out for each other by working to create stigma-free communities that champion young people's mental health and wellbeing.

2 in every 5 kids experience mental illness, 9 Aussies lose their lives to suicide every day, and 30 kids in every classroom need mental health education.

STARS OF TOMORROW GRADUATE ON-FIELD

St George District juniors will this weekend get the opportunity to take to Jubilee Stadium as they complete the NRL's TackleReady program.

They will get the opportunity to showcase their talents at half-time in both the club's Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and NRL clashes on Friday.

It marks a special moment for the young stars and their families as they earn their first taste of tackle rugby league on one of the sport's famous grounds.

The TackleReady program allows participants to learn correct and safe techniques, preparing them for the tackle version of rugby league.

The six-session program is delivered by accredited NRL TackleReady deliverers and aims to increase player confidence and physical competence in all tackling situations.

A HEAP OF ENTERTAINMENT

Plenty will be happening around the precinct pre-game before all the action in the stadium.

The club will be celebrating the recent announcement that next year's season opener will be played in Las Vegas with some special guests and fireworks.

DJ Jonny will again be electrifying the crowd with those in attendance also getting the chance to listen in on Dragons TV, watch some mini footy, and keep an eye for a half-time t-shirt throw.

Merchandise will be available at Gate A and Gate B as well as on the hill.
