Jubilee, WIN to host local TackleReady kids

Local juniors from across the club's catchment will this weekend get the opportunity to take to Jubilee Stadium and WIN Stadium as they complete the NRL's TackleReady program.

507 kids from 48 Under 7s teams will be on hand at Kogarah on Friday evening and Wollongong on Saturday morning.

St George juniors will get the opportunity to showcase their talents at half-time in both the club's Knock-On Effect NSW Cup and NRL clashes on Friday.

It marks a special moment for the young stars and their families as they earn their first taste of tackle rugby league on two of the sport's famous grounds.

Well done Champions!

It also comes following news that the St George District along with the Illawarra and South Coast Group 7 have enjoyed participation booms this season.

The TackleReady program allows participants to learn correct and safe techniques, preparing them for the tackle version of rugby league.

The six-session program is delivered by accredited NRL TackleReady deliverers and aims to increase player confidence and physical competence in all tackling situations.

10 members of the club's Top 30 NRL squad played junior rugby league in the club's catchment as well as eight members of the club's Top 24 NRLW squad.
