Corrimal High School's Meripa Teo has been named the 2023 Lotte Weiss Scholarship recipient through her participation in the NRL School to Work Program.
Meripa, an NRL School to Work Program participant through the Dragons, is currently in her first year of university studying a Bachelor of Engineering.
Through the program, she has secured a cadetship with Bluescope Steel as a Materials Engineer.
The Scholarship, totalling $10,000, aims to assist Indigenous students' transition to further education through university by providing financial aid.
"I'm extremely grateful to be here today," Meripa said.
"It's an opportunity that I didn't think I was capable of achieving but look where we are today."
It is open to students participating in the NRL School to Work Program who are applying for an undergraduate university course for the year following the completion of their Year 12 studies.
