The Dragons have wrapped up a series of visits to the 34 junior rugby league clubs within the St George, Illawarra, and South Coast Group 7 catchments in which they have conducted ‘Respect Sessions’ across the 2023 season.

The target of the visits has been the under-10s Tackle and League Tag teams at the respective clubs with the focus of the sessions being ‘Respect’.
These ‘Respect Sessions’ were run as a ball-in-hand, interactive workshop encouraging discussion about the meaning of respect and how to respect yourself and others.
Session presenters also utilised a range of basic skill games to reinforce key messaging as well as promote discussion among the group whilst energised.

The club’s NRL and NRLW stars have attended the sessions along with Dragons Community staff to deliver the messaging.
Jacquelyn Monk of the Southern Highlands Storm was one of the junior club volunteers who was appreciative of the sessions.
“I just wanted to say a big thanks to the staff and the players from the Dragons that came up to the Highlands,” Monk said.

“I spoke with our under-10s manager, Steph, who raved about how much fun our players had and how great the program was.”
The last of the visits included NRLW standouts Keele Browne and Tara McGrath-West who made the trip back to Browne’s junior club the Milton-Ulladulla Bulldogs.
The Dragons firmly believe that delivering these messages creates a positive experience for the young players as well as the coaches, volunteers, referees and parents to provide the best possible game day experience.
