It’s hard to not spot Troy in the crowd even if you tried, a 12-year member who you will see at home and away games, on the hill and in the stands, famously holding up the “Hunting Season” sign for 5 years.
Born in Padstow, Troy knew he would be a Dragons fan for life, his mum was a passionate Dragons supporter who grew up in South Hurstville and gave Troy no choice but to support the Dragons. As a youngster, Troy played junior league casually and thoroughly enjoyed attending games with his parents at Jubilee Stadium, Kogarah.
Besides the home games, Troy recalls many Anzac Day games in which he attended as a kid and noted they were and still are greatest games he has ever attended, he even boldly mentioned that he personally prefers Anzac Day games than any Grand Final.
Nowadays, Troy attends not only the home games at both venues and the most anticipated Anzac Day game clash but also many away games, such incredible dedication!
We attend every single game, there is a large group of us… about 10-15 guys. We plan the trips and flights for the away games
At every game, you will be able to see Troy and his group holding up various signs on the hill or in the stands. The “It’s Hunt-ing Season” sign made its debut on the day Ben Hunt debuted his first game for the Dragons and travels with Troy to all the games. Besides the “It’s Hunt-ing Season” sign, Troy also mentioned 2 other Dragons players Jamie Soward and Zac Lomax as close favourites.
We thank you Troy for your continual dedication and passion for the Dragons!
We have awarded him the Red V Member of the Match during our Round 17 home game at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Friday 23rd June vs New Zealand Warriors.
