Member of the match: Round 5 v Dolphins

St George Illawarra Dragons are proud to announce Felix Sifko as the Red V Member of the match for Round 5!

Mateship, passion, and unwavering loyalty are the 3 words that come to mind when talking about footy. Coincidentally those 3 words best describe Felix, a dedicated 18-year Red V Member, a Dragon for life.

Ever since childhood, Felix loved the Red V and followed his parents’ footsteps in his dedication as a Red V fan. At a young age, he would attend a couple of home games with his dad and by the time he was 17 years old, he rarely missed a local home game. Still to this day, his friends will vouch; “He is the first to arrive at home games, rail, hail or shine”.

Felix is exceptionally passionate and dedicated to the Red V, so much so that he even catches public transport to all Kogarah and Wollongong home games. When asked about why he attends all home games despite his current health condition, he boldly replied; “It’s about getting together with mates & the enjoyment of just being there…. the crowd is still the same after many years”.

Felix’s unwavering loyalty extends beyond just attendance of games as he never misses a single member event. Felix's group of mates even mentioned; “No matter what the media outcry is projecting or previous scores he is a true Red V member, through and through”.

It is known that all Red V members are passionate about our club and admire our players' dedication and resilience in the world of rugby league, however, Felix goes beyond this having spent a massive amount on footy cards and becoming a passionate footy card collector. He even waits hours prior to gates opening to get them signed by Dragons players – true dedication right there!

When asked about his favourite players, Felix rattled off quite a few, more specifically legends from the yesteryears: Reg Gasnier, Johnny Raper and Matt Cooper, Dean Young, Ben Hornby and Brett Morris.

As you can imagine, Felix has many memories associated with the club, its victories and hardships, so it was hard to just pick one of his favourite moments but nonetheless managed to settle on the 2019 ANZAC Day game where the Dragons trumped the Roosters, 20-10.

Felix’s unwavering dedication and passion for the Dragons is recognised by his fellow Red V members, who have proudly nominated him to be this week’s Member of the Match. These members include Mark Fullerton, Joe and Marc Torbi, Phillip Musso, Phillip Turner, Jarrad Rees, Daniel Tomkins, Tracey Goodwin, Nicky and Roger Seeto, who count themselves as Felix’s Red V family for life.

We have awarded him the Red V member of the Match during our Round 5 home game at WIN Stadium on 1st of April vs Dolphins.
