St George Illawarra Dragons announce board change

The St George Illawarra Dragons have today advised that Andrew Gordon will retire from the Board of the Dragons and will be replaced by Genevieve Gordon.

Andrew Gordon served on the Board for 16 years, including three as Chair after Birketu’s investment in the club in 2018.

Genevieve Gordon is currently General Manager – Radio for WIN, as well as being a Director of WIN Corporation and chair of Birketu and she brings to the Board experience in both Media and Sports Management.

"We would like to take the opportunity to thank Andrew Gordon for his contribution and service to the Dragons over the past 16 years and look forward to welcoming Gen to the Board," club Chairman Andrew Lancaster said.

The club has also confirmed Ben Creagh has replaced Peter Black on the club board, while Lancaster has now officially assumed chairman duties after Craig Young stepped down from the board earlier this week. Young’s replacement on the board will be named in due course.

"Gen and Ben Creagh will bring to the Board of the Dragons fresh perspectives and points of view," Lancaster added.

"As a Board we understand that our fans, sponsors, shareholders and community have expectations of what the Dragons should be and what we should stand for, and it is our role to guide the club to those expectations. The addition of Gen and Ben to the Board will add to that process.”

Ben Creagh is the second longest-serving player in club history and a 2010 premiership-winner who also represented NSW and Australia.

During his playing career he was a leader in driving players to pursue education, attaining a business degree from the University of Wollongong.

The Board now consists of:

  • Andrew Lancaster (Chairman)
  • Craig Osborne
  • Graeme Gulloch
  • Peter Doust
  • Ralph Piggott
  • Ben Creagh
  • Genevieve Gordon
  • Board member TBC
