St George Illawarra have announced the re-signing of a talented quintet ahead of the Dragons' 2022 NRL Telstra Women's Premiership season.

Local junior Keele Browne, forwards Aliti Namoce and Chantel Tugaga, utility Renee Targett and Illawarra Steelers star hooker Salma Nour will remain with the Dragons following the success of last season.

Coach Jamie Soward said their retention leaves the squad in a strong position with one spot remaining in the Dragons' squad.

"I'm really excited to get these five back. It's exciting to have a good core of young girls who have recommitted to the club," Soward said.

"Renee for me is one of the most professional people I've ever met so I'm really excited to get her back. Keele's a local junior and we love being able to promote those girls and keep them in our system.

"Salma's a special signing because she was a development player last year and we promoted from within our ranks. It proves how serious we take our development spots."

All five players re-signings follows the announcement of the Dragons' 2022 NRLW draw.

The Dragons will kick-start their campaign at WIN Stadium, Wollongong as part of a first grade double header against the Gold Coast Titans on Sunday, August 21.

A huge clash against the Parramatta Eels (also a double header with the NRL Dragons on Sunday, August 28) will follow before the 2021 NRLW grand final rematch takes place against the Sydney Roosters at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday, September 4.
