Two of St George Illawarra's brightest young talents Mat and Max Feagai have re-signed with the Dragons for a further two seasons, until at least the end of the 2024 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

Utility backs Mat and Max have both enjoyed stints in first grade with eight and six NRL games to their names respectively.

The Leeton natives have enjoyed a long tenure at the Dragons since joining the club as 13-year-olds, where they eventually played part in the Illawarra Steelers' infamous 2019 SG Ball premiership win.

"The Dragons have been a big part of both our lives. We were both keen on staying beyond this coming season," Mat said.

"I've had a taste of first grade now and I want to continue playing week-in, week-out; that will be what I'll be working hard towards this pre-season and beyond. Hopefully I'll be able to play a lot more games alongside Max too."

Max spoke of his disbelief about the opportunities he and his twin brother have been afforded so far in their young careers.

"We often talk about how special an opportunity this has been at the Dragons. We are so happy to re-sign and to continue making our family proud," Max said.

"Hopefully I can stay healthy this season and play a lot more games than I did last year all with the goal to cement a spot in the NRL team."

General manager of football Ben Haran acknowledged the Feagai twins for their ongoing loyalty to the club.

"Mat and Max have both proven over the last year that they have the ability to perform in the NRL and their retention is definitely one for all members, partners and fans to be excited about," Haran said.

"The twins' continued commitment to the club is yet another example for any aspiring footballers throughout our junior systems that the Dragons can provide a strong pathway through to first grade."
