St George Illawarra forward Tariq Sims will create his own slice of history this weekend when he becomes the second-most capped Country Origin player of all-time.

Sims will join the likes of Dragons legend Ben Creagh and Country Origin staff members Craig Fitzgibbon and Andrew Ryan to play a whopping six times for the boys from the bush.

Only current New South Wales coach Laurie Daley (seven games) has played more times for Country Origin than Sims.

The Gerrigong junior will also overtake Dragons coach Paul McGregor (five games) when he runs out at Mudgee against the City Origin side this Sunday afternoon.
