The St George Illawarra Dragons have recorded a late 26-22 win over the Parramatta Eels at WIN Stadium, Wollongong, where they only hit the lead for the first time in the final four minutes.
The Eels posted first points in the seventh minute when fullback Anthony Layoun scored.
Dragons winger Tristan Sailor helped his team bounce back four minutes later when he caught handle of a nice kick across field from halfback Jackson Willis.
From there the first half was all the Eels, who scored again through centre Dane Aukafolau in the 15th minutes.
Eels skipper Denzal Tonise followed that up with a try of his in the 22nd minute before centre Tuimavave Afualo found his way to the white stripe 10 minutes before the break.
With Parramatta up 18-4 at half-time, a long-range try from fullback Steve Marsters provided the Red V some relief.
However, Aukafolau's second try for the Eels put the away side even further ahead in the 51st minute.
The comeback was back in the 58th minute when Reuben Garrick scored under the sticks following a wayward Eels offload.
Tom Angel's try in the 70th minute put the Dragons within two points of snatching victory, which is exactly what they did when Sailor scurried his way to the try-line for his second a mere four minutes from full-time.
