The St George Illawarra Dragons have suffered a 46-16 loss to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Under 20s trial at ANZ Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Rabbitohs took just two minutes to push ahead through Tyrone Taukamo and quickly followed that up with tries to five-eighth Adam Doueihi and hooker Phoenix Hunt.

Dragons halfback Jackson Willis offered some relief for his side when he scored in the 35th minute to set up an 18-6 half-time deficit.

Rabbitohs centre Bailey Schiach-Wise only took five minutes into the second half to score and from there Souths ran away with it.

A quick double to Gabe Hamlin and another try to Doueihi saw South Sydney extend their lead to 40-6 in the early stages of the second half.

Dragons centre Caleb Campbell pegged one back for the Red V in the 67th minute.

But the Rabbitohs would score again, this time through Jordan Mailata, in the 71st minute.

A try to Dragons back-rower Trent Peoples at the death helped the scoreline become a slightly more respectable 46-16 ending.
