St George Illawarra Dragons winger Kalifa Faifai Loa is focused on maximising the benefits that come from a strong pre-season.

The Red-and-Whites have recently completed their first phase of pre-season training and conditioning under the guidance of new Head of Athletic Performance Nathan Pickworth.

Faifai Loa notes that the players have had to adapt to the rigours of the program set in place but have thoroughly enjoyed it due to the integration of drills from other sporting codes.

“It’s been tough this pre-season with the mixed changes but all the boys have loved it even though it’s hard,” said Faifai Loa.

“Nathan is a good bloke who knows what he’s doing and it can be seen on the field through all the different fitness, speed and agility programs he is having us do.

“It is definitely working with all the boys cutting down on their skinfolds so that will continue in the new year when the second half of pre-season starts.

“My goal is to get through the entire pre-season which is why I am only taking it one week at a time.”
