St George Illawarra Dragons new-recruit Nene Macdonald has quickly adjusted to his new surroundings following the commencement of pre-season.

The Cairns Brothers junior, who can play on the wing or in the centres, arrived from the Gold Coast Titans during the off-season having agreed to a three-year contract.

The NRL World All-Stars representative (2016) has been quick to praise his new training environment whilst also singling out both the gymnasium and playing sheds as first-class.

The Papua New Guinea Kumuls international believes that both are a welcome addition as he focuses on having the best pre-season of his career to date.

“Pre-season has been so good so far and all the boys have been very welcoming,” said Macdonald.

“I’m expecting it to be pretty tough but I’m looking forward to it as it’ll be challenge for me and I’m trying to step it up this year.

“It’s very different here to my time with the Titans as they didn’t have the facilities there that are here at the Dragons.

“It’s a big upgrade for me having a nice gym and finally having a good dressing room.

“It’s a new beginning for me.

“I told Paul McGregor upon arriving that I’ll play wherever as it doesn’t faze me as long as I am playing and performing well as well.”
