Illawarra Cutters fullback Adam Quinlan is anticipating a big game atmosphere for their Preliminary Final fixture against the Newtown Jets at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.

The Cutters enter the encounter on the back of a seven-day rest, allowing several players to refresh and heal their bodies, following their earlier 32-22 Qualifying Final victory over Wests Tigers at UOW Jubilee Oval, Kogarah.

Quinlan notes that the time-off has worked in favour for the team who are keen to progress even further into the Finals Series if they can notch the vital win.

“It’s been an outstanding season for the Cutters  finishing second during the regular season and winning our Qualifying Final game against the Tigers,” said Quinlan.

“Obviously though the job isn’t done as hopefully we have a few more big games to come starting this week which will be a challenge for us.

“It’s cliché but we are only worrying about what happens from week to week and everyone is enjoying what they’re doing.

“Going into the game against the Tigers we knew if we got the win then some of us could rest those niggling injuries and freshen up so it was a big positive.”
