St George Illawarra Dragons halfback Drew Hutchison will make the most of his chance to compete against the Parramatta Eels at Pirtek Stadium, Parramatta on Monday.
The Albion Park Oak Flats Eagles junior has been named to partner co-captain Gareth Widdop in the upcoming fixture after fellow teammate Benji Marshall was afforded a rest by Head Coach Paul McGregor.

Hutchison, who played three first-grade fixtures last season, has been a crucial part of the Illawarra Cutters strong campaign this season and is keen to help the team on the eve of their own respective NSW Cup Finals Series.
“It’s an unbelievable opportunity as is any occasion when you get to play a first-grade game and I’m feeling very privileged,” said Hutchison.
“I got a taste of first-grade last season so I was really hoping this chance would come but I knew I had to remain playing consistently when on the field and I like to think I have been doing that so to get a call-up is very rewarding.
“McGregor had a very brief chat to me and told me to get my head around playing on Monday.
“I was shocked but at the same time very happy and overall pleased with myself.

“We have a very confident side in the Illawarra Cutters and we hope to go deep into the Finals Series.
“It makes it very easy for me to slot in to either team as both systems are very complimentary with similar structures; it’s more so the different players you need to adapt to.”
