St George Illawarra Dragons halfback Benji Marshall is poised to play his 250th first-grade game against the Gold Coast Titans at UOW Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Friday.

The Keebra Park junior, who arrived midway through the 2014 campaign, has played 48 NRL games for the Red-and-Whites to date having previously been contracted to Wests Tigers.

Head Coach Paul McGregor has named an 18-man squad for the upcoming home fixture which also sees second-rower Tyrone McCarthy potentially make his first-grade debut after being named on an extended interchange.

The Ireland Bloodhounds international, who joined during the off-season, is joined by props Leeson Ah Mau and Dunamis Lui as well as second-rowers Tariq Sims and Jake Marketo on the five-man bench.

Dragons duo Josh Dugan (fullback) and Tyson Frizell (prop) have both additionally been named and will be assessed by Club medical staff following their respective commitments with the NSW Blues team.

“It’s a milestone that I’m really proud of and I know that those close to me our proud of too,” said Marshall.

“It was a goal of mine to try and reach this milestone and to achieve it in front of those closest to me will be special.

“The priority though remains with the team putting in a strong performance on the field come kick-off in front of our passionate Red V Members and supporters.”
