Illawarra Cutters prop Eric Newbigging is expecting a physical tussle against the New Zealand Warriors at Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland on Saturday.

The Cutters cross the Tasman on the back of five consecutive wins including their most recent over the Newtown Jets to maintain possession of the Tom Kirk Cup last round.

Newbigging however has warned his teammates not to be complacent by recent results foreseeing a real tussle in the middle of the field against an imposing Warriors forward-pack playing on home turf.

“I think we’ve just got to stick with the big boys as they're a big pack who may tire quickly,” said Newbigging

“If we can match them in the middle and tire them out, fullback Adam Quinlan might just be able to really cause some damage through the middle of the park.

“Every team prepares differently, but having spent some time in the Warriors system, I know they will be instilled with confidence ahead of the game, and they'll be up for the challenge.

“It's cliche, but if we’re to win the game, it will come down to the basics and everyone doing their job.”
