St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team winger Reuben Garrick is ready for redemption against the Melbourne Storm at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.

The Young Dragons enter the encounter undefeated in their previous six outings and are keen to add to that tally in front of their home crowd.

Garrick, who recently re-signed for a further two seasons, scored the winning try against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs last round and is keen to play his part again against the Storm.

The Young Dragons went down 44-24 in their opening round fixture of the campaign and Garrick notes he and his teammates are ready to make amends.

“It was a tough grind against a very physical Bulldogs team last round and they were on top for a lot of the game,” said Garrick.

“However, in the last few minutes we got on top which was great for the entire team.

“I put our recent performances down the work shown from our forwards who have been turning up week in and week out for us.

“Our halves in Jai Field and Jack Payne have also been steering us around which allows us to get into position to do what we have to do.

“Looking ahead and the Storm got us earlier on in the season and for us we see this match-up as our redemption game in front of our local crowd.

“I enjoy playing in Wollongong given I grew up playing footy in the area and will be hoping to do my best for the team.”
