St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team Head Coach Mat Head is keen to see his players return to action against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Monday.

The Young Dragons enter the encounter refreshed from their first allocated Bye Round and with an eye on extending their five match undefeated streak.

Head notes that the playing squad have responded well to the conditioning and field skills sessions thus far this week and are happy to be playing competitively once again.

“The players got a well-deserved couple of days rest but have returned eager to return to the paddock,” said Head.

“We have had a mostly positive first block of games this season which have seen the boys record six wins and one draw from their 12 outings.

“This has put us in a good position ahead of the second bloc of games but the players aren’t talking what’s come before for granted.

“The previous few games have been great to watch and shows that what we are trying to implement in training is really resonating on the field which is good for the boys.”
