Illawarra Cutters prop Shannon Wakeman will proudly play his 100th fixture for the Club when he tackles Wests Tigers at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.
The local Berkeley Eagles junior made his debut during the 2012 campaign against the New Zealand Warriors in Round 7 having arrived from the Windsor Wolves.
Wakeman was named the 2014 Cutters Player of the Year in a banner season after overcoming injury setbacks and was this year named in the NSWRL Residents squad.
“Such a milestone is a great achievement and I am honoured to be playing my 100th game for the Club," said Wakeman.
"I have been able to do a lot during my time here including being named in this season's NSWRL Residents team.
"I was grateful to get the opportunity as it was a great relief having just missed out on selection in past years.
"Being named the Club's Player of the Year for 2014 was also a highlight in my career to date and I will continue to play my best week in and week out for the Cutters."
Illawarra Cutters Chairman Sean O’Connor is full of praise for the forward, congratulating Wakeman on his great achievement.
“Shannon has been an integral part of our club since our first year in 2012” said O’Connor.
“He has been a true professional and popular team player.
“I would like to congratulate Shannon on this achievement and thank him for the loyalty he has shown the Club."
