St George Illawarra Dragons Ambassador Dan Hunt was humbled by a kind gesture from students attending TAFE Illawarra recently.

The Dapto Canaries junior was awarded a cheque for $2,000 which will support several mental health initiatives he is involved in by students enrolled in the institution’s Wollongong Event Management class.

The students, some of whom study the course whilst enrolled with the University of Wollongong’s Faculty of Business, raised the funds by hosting a corporate gold day at Port Kembla Golf Club in March.

“I am very humbled and proud to be provided this cheque which will certainly help several mental health initiatives I am involved in,” said Hunt.

“These students went above and beyond to help raise awareness of this issue and I know the recipients will be very grateful for the kind gesture shown.”
