St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team five-eighth Jai Field admits intensity will be key against the North Queensland Cowboys at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.
The Young Dragons enter the encounter on the back of four successive wins on the trot and looking to make amends against their rivals who downed them 38-18 when the pair met earlier this season (Round 5).
Field, a local Shellharbour Sharks junior, believes the team needs to start out strong against their opponents and hopes to play a strong role in deciding the outcome.
“It was good to get the hard fought win against the Rabbitohs especially having had to come from behind to get the points,” said Field.
“It felt great being able to score a try and kick some goals in front of a large crowd in a big stadium but I was scrappy with the boot a bit overall.
“It’ll be good coming home and hosting the Cowboys as I enjoy playing at WIN Stadium having played there during my time with the Steelers SG Ball team.
“We fought hard against the Cowboys last time we came up against them earlier in the season but unfortunately they came out harder in the second-half.
“It’ll be good to be able to match them again but this time get away with the win.”
